Starting Compensation

Annual Salary: $105,400.00 - $150,999.00 (Amount based on office location, relevant experience, skills, and competencies)

The Senior Manager, Learning & Development (L&D) leads a global team of Learning Specialists in the analysis, design, development, delivery, modification, and evaluation of various needs-based training (including operations, compliance, technical and soft skills, and manager/leadership training) in alignment with corporate and learning goals. This position plays a critical role in ensuring global training materials are compliant with federal, local, and state laws, applicable regulations, and issuer requirements. The Senior Manager of L&D also upholds the quality, effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment of instructional design for global training programs so that desired learning outcomes are attained with optimal resource utilization and learning engagement. This position serves as a primary business liaison, internal learning consultant, and relationship manager for the Learning and Development department and should collaboratively and effectively manage relationships with stakeholders and team members.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Learning Portfolio Management: Oversees the portfolio of training initiatives to ensure learning alignment with enterprise strategic and operational goals including determining potential synergies and dependencies, eliminating duplication of efforts, managing risk, and effectively utilizing resources to accomplish strategic learning alignment. Acts as an escalation point for resolving escalated issues and resolving competing priorities.
  • Learning Team/Resource Management: Manages the performance of the Training Department. Plan, assign, monitor and evaluate work of assigned staff. Plan and monitor training budget.
  • Manager of Direct Reports: Manages the recruitment and training of departmental staff and manages their performance. Other staff development activities to include but not limited to: career development, strategic planning, cross-training, and addressing escalated issues and resolving problems.
  • Process Improvement: Seeks to improve the talent/learning development methods and delivery processes. Responsible for improving the L&D process framework including but not limited to: scope definition, needs assessment/evaluation, requirements gathering, business case creation, strategic alignment, instructional design, learning facilitation/deployment, prioritization and sequencing of learning goals across the enterprise, project management, benefits realization, and relationship management.
  • Strategic Learning/Performance Consulting: Regularly meets with stakeholders to understand the business outcomes essential for their success. Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training for all levels of staff to support their competency in areas that are critical to the organization. Consults with other HR/L&D/Business leaders to ensure that the training is designed to meet the needs of adult learners and is globally scalable. Continually plans assess and evaluates learning and development services against the organization’s business plan and the needs of the internal stakeholders and consumers. Regularly coaches managers and employees to apply skills learned in training and drive impact in their respective teams. Partner with global team members in establishing leadership accountability for key programs.
  • Training Support: 15% - 25% travel to various domestic and international sites may be required during peak training delivery times.


Education
Required: Bachelor; Specialization in Human Resources, Learning & Development, and/or Organizational Development
Preferred: Master or Advanced; Specialization in Human Resources, Learning & Development, and/or Organizational Development

Language
Required: English
Preferred: Bilingual, Spanish Speaking

Experience

Required:

  • 10+ years in training delivery, content and curriculum design in a global multi-site, highly regulated, rapidly changing, and operationally-based environment.
  • 8+ years strong project management experience, including managing a learning portfolio 5+ years.
  • Expert understanding of the curriculum development and instructional design process, competency-based learning and blending learning through the use of multiple learning media.
  • Thorough understanding of Adult Learning theories.
  • Extensive facilitation experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and learning technologies including familiarity with LMS and content authoring tools (see technical skills).
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and technical skills with the ability to readily develop and cultivate strong working relationships across the global organization.
  • Strong business acumen, highly professional, and solutions-orientation.


Preferred:

  • Experience managing complex global learning portfolios, implementing learning technology including advanced gamification techniques.
  • Strong Learning Management System (LMS) implementation and maintenance experience, development of eLearning in Articulate Storyline and/or Captivate (or similar technology).
  • Ability to facilitate executive development programs.
