The State Managing Attorney of California will be responsible for using his or her knowledge and skills to advocate for the company in legal collections matters, developing and enhancing the company's processes, and helping to maintain the company's ethical and compliance standards. This position is also responsible for managing the performance and duties of other team members (both other attorneys and support staff) and is responsible for ensuring that operations in locations under the Managing Attorney's responsibility are consistent with company policy and applicable law. The position reports to a Regional Managing Attorney of Legal Collections.


  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. 
  • Barred in the State of California and in good standing. 
  • 5-7 years’ experience as a front-line collections attorneys and successfully managing debt collection cases.
  • Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework affecting the debt buying and debt collection industries including: FDCPA, FCRA, GLBA and related state statutes.
  • Strong critical thinking and strategic skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and work in a rapidly changing environment.


  • Barred in another state in conjunction with California State Bar. 
  • Ability to analyze and interpret performance data in Excel.
