About the Role

The Staff Accountant reporting to the Consumer Accounting Manager, works independently with little management oversight. The role prepares journal entries, reconciles accounts from the general ledger, and prepares month-end reports; is also responsible for high-level journal entries, also performs reconciliation of complex ledger accounts. The position also conducts the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures including SEC reporting.

  • Act as an integral part in the month-end closing process, including high level journal entries.
  • Is an integral part of the preparation of quarter-end closings, contribute to the completion of financial statements in compliance with accounting guidelines and US GAAP, as well as in the preparation of working papers for quarterly and annual audits as well as SEC reporting.
  • Prepare complex financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and complete individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.
  • Research and correct items shown on GL reconciliations; develop solutions to correct problems.
  • Using established procedures, perform reconciliation of complex general ledger accounts.


  • Bachelors inFinance or Accounting
  • 3+ years experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel and Access).
  • Advanced knowledge of internal control processes; Sarbanes Oxley and related reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Knowledge of COSO framework for internal controls.
