Starting Compensation

Annual Salary: $102,800.00 - $133,500.00 (Amount based on office location, relevant experience, skills, and competencies)

About the job

The Senior Software Engineer will take ownership of critical components of Midland Credit Management’s Legal Collections suite of applications, from the core collection (CRM) platform to the predicative dialer to the cloud infrastructure. This individual will work with complex code bases and large scale projects that will transform the collection industry through the use of microservices architecture, AWS and Azure, serverless technologies, fully automated CI/CD pipelines, JavaScript based SPAs, RDBMS and NoSQL technologies, and Machine Learning (ML)/Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This person will work as part of a globally distributed team, under the supervision of an Engineering Manager and with the support from Architects, Tech Leads, and Product Managers to innovate, develop, and support outstanding collection software to help our consumers regain their financial freedom.

Required

  • 5-10 years of professional experience with 5+ years in Java, 3+ years of frameworks (Spring or similar)
  • Familiarity and hands on experience with:
  • Architecture and design principles like OOP and SOLID
  • Webservices
  • Microservices and Event Driven Architecture
  • Developer code quality frameworks and tools such as: SonarQube, Nexus IQ, etc.
  • CI/CD (Maven, Jenkins or something similar)
  • Source control tools (such as Git, SVN), along with their hosting platforms such as Github, VSTS, etc.
  • Cloud native services from AWS (preferred) or Azure. MCM is actively using EC2, EBS, S3, DMS, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena, SQS, SNS, SES, CloudWatch, IAM, Glue…etc in production workloads.
  • Solid grasp and working knowledge of RDBMS (such as SQLServer and Aurora) and NoSQL (such as MongoDB)
  • Experience with Terraform building Infrastructure as code

Preferred

  • Experience in scripting languages (Python) and rich web UI development (React or Angular)
  • Agile/Scrum methodology and Test-Driven Development
