About the Job
The Senior Accounting Clerk is responsible for recording, classifying and summarizing accounting data to ensure the accuracy of collections, postings, and receipts. This individual mentors and trains other accounting staff members. This position may perform other accounting functions according to established processes and procedures. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare GL account reconciliation research; maintain, organize and collate files.
- Reconcile collections activity, including all collections by funds code, all pended payments: process AP payments; create reports.
- Prepare routine journal entries.
- Train and mentor other employees.
- 1-2 years relevant experience (and/or in place of education).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated and committed to results.
- General knowledge of accounting practices.
- Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Starting CompensationHourly Rate: $24.00 + (Amount based on office location, relevant experience, skills, and competencies)
