The Buyer II is responsible for ensuring the processes of the Procurement department are sufficiently supporting the business and working to continuously improve those processes. This individual will own procurement for department specific goods and services, including strategic sourcing for supplier selection to ensure all company cost reduction goals are being met and operations are not negatively impacted. Responsibilities include:


Procurement Process Owner - Create and Manage continual process improvement for all daily requisition to pay activities, end user experiences and compliance. Maintain proficiency in all related policies and procedures including articulating and enforcing those P&Ps. Focus on Customer Service. Self-Manage and contribute to the strategic direction of the procurement department.

Purchasing - Procurement of goods and services for the business. Coordinate RFP processes through partnering with internal Business Owner.  Negotiation of complex requests for goods and services to positively impact department budgets. Strong focus on Cost Savings and Cost Avoidance. Ensure required approvals are in place prior to execution of a purchase order. Negotiation of contracts and pricing agreements with preferred vendors. Partner with Legal/Business owner on SOW's and Contracts.

Vendor Management - Provide support for the business and other TPRM (Third-party Risk Management) departments with the new supplier onboarding processes including the collection of supplier documentation, and relevant information as necessary.  Collaborate with the Vendor Management team to assess Workday and Workday Strategic Sourcing (WSS) system procedures to enhance and optimize system capabilities and processes.  


Required

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP system, such as Workday, Oracle, etc.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Ability to quickly build and maintain working relationships.
  • Teammate mentality.

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree.
